ABOUT ABOUT

Shaw’s Crab House in Schaumburg and Tokio Pub are coming together to host a charity drive to benefit The American Red Cross and their Hurricane Sandy relief effort. Hurricane Sandy has affected millions of people on the East Coast; the goal of the benefit is to raise more than $5,000 for those in need. Shaw’s Oyster Bar will feature the always fun, bluesy, rock and rollers, The Pat Smillie Band. In addition, Shaw’s will serve signature items such as their mini lobster rolls, shrimp cocktail, assorted sushi and oysters on the half shell. Guests can wash it down with select beers, wines and specialty cocktails like the Blue Chicago and White Peach Martini. Right next door, Tokio Pub will showcase the talents of Chicago’s hottest “vinyl spinner”—DJ Katy. Tokio Pub will pass their famous finger foods, including Crying Tiger Shrimp, assorted sushi, house tacos and shrimp ceviche. Guests will also get to sample a special selection of Tokio Pub’s thirst-quenching cocktails like the Blushing Geisha and White Peach Sangren A $35 donation ensures guests to a complimentary list of select cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment.

The American Red Cross is helping those in need who have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The Red Cross has provided more than 23,000 overnight shelter stays since Saturday to those communities in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast suffering from widespread power outages, wind damage and significant flooding from Superstorm Sandy. Tuesday night, more than 9,000 people stayed in 171 Red Cross shelters across 13 states. More than 100,800 meals and snacks have been served. Financial donations help the Red Cross provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by disasters like Hurricane Sandy, as well as countless crises at home and around the world.
